How Do I Measure My Window for Window Blinds?
We always recommend that you contact Universal Blinds to come out and measure your window for you. Our window furnishings are made to measure so we must record the correct measurements, down to the last millimetre.
I Have Very Large Windows in My New Kitchen/Family Room – Do You Have Blinds to Suit This?
Vertical blinds are an excellent choice for very wide patio doors or windows since they can be made up to 5 metres wide. If you’re considering a more contemporary feel, then panel blinds can create a stylish effect with their multiple, stylish fabric panels.
Can Fitting Window Blinds Really Conserve Energy?
Yes, absolutely. Independent tests confirm that you can save up to 16% of your household energy bills by fitting energy-efficient window blinds in your home. Perfect Fit roller blinds and cellular blinds are the most efficient, and high-rating fabrics include Chenille, Shot Silk, Montana, Organza ESP, and Nova Cellular.
My Conservatory Gets Too Hot in Summer – What Do You Recommend?
Adding Perfect Fit pleated blinds to the roof and sides of your conservatory will reduce heat build-up in summer and also keep it warm in winter. Perfect Fit blinds can be installed quickly and easily because they are clipped into place without drilling or screwing any holes. Additionally, SPC fabrics such as Inspirations will reflect more light away from the conservatory. You could also fit pleated blinds in the roof window and roller blinds on the sides in matching fabrics.
What Window Blinds Are Suitable for a Bathroom or Kitchen?
For kitchen blinds, we recommend a moisture-resistant fabric such as Carnival, which is also an anti-microbial material, with obvious benefits in an area where food is prepared. Carnival is available in 36 sensational colours as roller, vertical, Roman, and pleated blinds.
In the bathroom, Ex-Lite would be ideal. Available in ten popular colours, this plain, PVC fabric repels moisture so is a good choice for both kitchens and bathrooms. If you want to be a little more daring, then the bold design of Bloom will brighten up your bathroom and it has the same moisture-repellent properties of Ex-Lite.
What Type of Blind Should I Use in My Child’s Bedroom?
We recommend a blackout roller blind. This will keep out most of the light and aid sleep, which is especially beneficial during the long summer daylight hours. For your child’s safety and your own peace of mind, we would suggest a spring-operated blind that has no cords attached. Also, please ensure that cots and beds are located away from bedroom windows.
